When Bruce and Margaret Hunt decided to make the big move north to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren, choosing a builder to build their new home was easy. Their daughter had used Homeworld Design & Build a few years earlier and was very pleased with the experience. They didn’t need to even look any further. So with very specific requirements for their new home, they popped in to see the Homeworld team.
“Homeworld took very much on board what we wanted and our specific requirements. Being in a wheelchair full time, I needed the house to be as wheelchair friendly as possible. Having a ‘flush level entry’ around the entire house is priceless! They even used large boulders on the section to create a retaining wall which meant instead of having a sloping section, we now had a totally useable flat section. Doors and hallways were built wider, I had a custom made vanity that my wheelchair could go under and a sloping floor easy access shower. Carousel Kitchens even designed me a purpose built chopping board at a lower height for me to use. “
“My husband is an engineer, so he has a very sharp eye for detail. The quality and workmanship was so high with all the tradespeople. We are delighted with everything, and I don’t think there is anything we would change. The house is so spacious! The total build time was less than 15 weeks! We are always happy to promote good things. And the Homeworld team is one of them. We don’t plan on building again so we wanted to get it right first time. Most of our dealings during construction were with Mark Russell our Project Manager. He had his finger on everything! Since we didn’t live locally, most of our communication and decision making was made via phone and email. He always kept us totally involved in the whole process. He was brilliant! We are delighted with the way everything came together and would strongly recommend Homeworld to anyone thinking to build.”
